Point Reyes

Shitty & pretty

Story by Pavel Macek July 30th, 2014

Our first trip to Point Reyes National Seashore was with our buddies Dilip and Alla. We’ve got hit by fog, wind and cold as soon as we got to North Beach. And suprisingly, the fog this place is so well known for is indeed miserable :)

Everything was different the second time around, although still colder and windier than the inland, whole peninsula was sunny and welcoming.

A lot of stairs, but it’s worth it.

The old lighthouse is full of various contraptions and doodads which won’t leave any tinkerer calm.

Some of the views are just stunning.

Elephant seals overlook can be easily missed, but most definitely shouldn’t. Yes, those are elephant seals, hundreds of them, making all sorts of funky noises. Yes, even farts.

Drakes beach. It’s big. And windy.

Footnote: Point Reyes is without a doubt one of those places. Those you can't visit only once.
