Smoky Lake Tahoe

Story by Pavel Macek July 4th, 2016

Our first trip to Lake Tahoe in 2014 was perfectly timed with King fire – expansive wildfire covering Lake Tahoe completely in smoke on the Friday when we arrived. Most of the smoke cleared up next day in the morning, but you can still see the haze in some of the pictures as well as smoke clouds in the background.

We made the trip with our buddy Chris, who was visiting us from UK.

I’m not sure if I saw a live chipmunk before. He was a cheeky little fella.

On our last day, Chris had a silly (lovely) idea to wake up real early and watch sunrise. And we did that. It was a freezing cold morning. Also stunningly beautiful.

That’s Chris getting out of the freezing cold water and clouds of smoke from the King Fire on the horizon.

That’s Chris. He’s wonderful.
